An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Field Service Engineer - Integrated Control System (ICS). In this role, you will provide essential technical assistance on Automation Systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime. Your responsibilities will encompass working with various systems including Power Management, Fire & Gas, Emergency Shutdown, Custody Transfer, and Gas Management Systems, among others, in both upgrade and after-sale capacities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver service onboard vessels equipped with KM Systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting support via phone and email communication.
  • Execute service assignments as per customer requests.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of service reports, timesheets, and expense reports in accordance with Work Orders.
  • Produce and update As-Built Documentation and Drawings.
  • Enhance personal qualifications through internal and external training opportunities.
  • Assist sales and marketing efforts with technical insights.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 50-70% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Kongsberg control systems.
  • Interpret and analyze drawings and control system architecture.
  • Utilize multimeters and software tools for troubleshooting communication or loop errors.
  • Understand the functionality of Power Management Systems, generators, and governor controls.
  • Troubleshoot and modify HVAC and Fire & Gas control systems.
  • Modify or add control logic as necessary.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as Profibus, TCP/IP, and Modbus.
  • Complete and submit timesheets and expenses promptly.
  • Take ownership of assigned cases and service trips.
  • Propose product improvements and communicate needs to the Service Manager or product department.
  • Proactively suggest available upgrades and new products to customers during service visits.
  • Implement actions to prevent errors in our delivery and after-sales services.
  • Support Key Support Managers with aftersales quotations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry/military training.
  • Understanding of general Electrical/Electronic control system concepts, including PID controllers and communication protocols.
  • Ability to produce and interpret technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting low voltage electrical components and using multimeters.
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and their architecture is highly desirable.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Able to perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
