Your Role:

As a vital member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Senior Manufacturing Director, you will be tasked with enhancing manufacturing efficiency and overseeing capital projects across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization (70%): Analyze waste, speed, and delays in product design for each machine, striving to meet or surpass design expectations by:
    • Formulating and executing strategies to minimize yield loss.
    • Creating and refining process maps for each machine, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks.
    • Pinpointing delays and devising plans to mitigate them.
    • Fostering collaboration among departments to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
    • Engaging with operators on the production floor to promote continuous improvement.
    • Networking with engineers across all plants to share best practices.
  • Quality Assurance (10%): Ensure that produced materials consistently meet or exceed quality standards by:
    • Monitoring laboratory results.
    • Participating in quality audits and discussions.
  • Safety Leadership (10%): Actively contribute to the plant's safety initiatives by:
    • Identifying and mitigating hazards related to equipment.
    • Monitoring safety conditions and behaviors.
    • Engaging in safety audits.
  • Capital Project Management (10%): Oversee and manage capital projects by:
    • Identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Organizing teams for research initiatives.
    • Drafting Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).
    • Coordinating and executing projects.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Proven ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong independent judgment to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective collaboration.
  • Intermediate proficiency in standard software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to plan strategically over a 30-day horizon.
  • Competence in balancing quality, productivity, and cost considerations.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong team player attributes.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial, or paper science) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting related to automated systems.
