Position Summary

The National Sales Account Executive will play a crucial role in driving business growth by identifying and cultivating new customer relationships while maintaining strong connections with existing clients. This position involves recognizing potential customers, following up on sales opportunities, collaborating on product trials, and successfully closing new business agreements. The Executive will be accountable for achieving annual revenue and profit growth objectives for Garlock's clientele, representing the full spectrum of Garlock's offerings and ensuring that customer expectations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Build and oversee a portfolio of key customer accounts, fostering long-term relationships and identifying avenues for revenue enhancement.
  • Market Insights: Remain informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Sales Planning: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and implement effective sales strategies and promotional initiatives.
  • Revenue Achievement: Meet and surpass sales objectives by understanding customer needs and delivering customized solutions.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct regular meetings and presentations with key clients to ensure satisfaction and address their needs.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside product development, operations, and customer support teams to ensure the successful implementation of sales strategies.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and relevant data to senior management.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven sales and negotiation abilities with a track record of exceeding sales goals.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the packaging industry, including market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain strong customer relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagements and business development, up to 50% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, packaging, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of sales experience, ideally within the flexible packaging sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing key accounts and driving revenue growth.

Physical Demands

  • Mobility: Frequent travel is required for customer meetings, trade shows, and site visits.
  • Driving: A valid driver's license is necessary for travel by car.
  • Computer Use: Extensive use of computers for data entry, communication, and presentations is expected.
  • Visual and Hearing Acuity: Clear vision and effective communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Stress Management: The ability to handle the pressures associated with sales targets and customer relationships is important.
