Position Summary

The National Sales Account Manager will play a crucial role in driving growth by acquiring new clients and nurturing existing relationships. This position involves identifying potential customers, engaging in product trials, and successfully closing sales deals. The role is pivotal in achieving revenue and margin growth objectives for Garlock Flexibles. The Account Manager will represent the full spectrum of Garlock products and services, leading the customer account planning process to ensure that client expectations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Development: Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts, fostering long-term relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Market Insights: Remain informed about industry trends and competitor activities to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Sales Planning: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and implement effective sales strategies and promotional initiatives.
  • Sales Performance: Achieve and surpass sales targets by understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct regular meetings and presentations with key clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with product development, operations, and customer support to execute sales strategies effectively.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present sales forecasts and reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and insights.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven sales and negotiation skills with a track record of exceeding targets.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the packaging industry, including market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and business development, up to 50% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, packaging, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of sales experience, ideally within the flexible packaging sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing key accounts and driving revenue growth.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Mobility: Frequent travel may be required for client meetings and trade shows.
  • Driving: A valid driver's license is necessary for travel by car.
  • Computer Use: Extensive use of computers for data entry, communication, and presentations is expected.
  • Stress Management: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment while managing pressure effectively.
