Role Responsibilities:

As a Public Sector Sales Executive, you will report directly to the Head of Government Sales. Your primary focus will be on identifying and securing new business opportunities while collaborating with the Sales team to strategically nurture accounts. You will also work closely with Product, Partnerships, Marketing, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success teams to provide ongoing feedback on our messaging, positioning, and solution capabilities.

Key Duties Include:

  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of Blackbird.AI's product offerings and aligning them with client needs and operational requirements.
  • Designing and executing a complete sales strategy aimed at acquiring new customers and expanding within the existing client base in the Public Sector domain, working collaboratively with team members to determine the most effective approach.
  • Enhancing public sector knowledge to improve solution selling, strategic alignment, and growth across various segments.
  • Gathering in-depth insights into customer use cases, internal decision-making processes, budget cycles, and other critical information necessary for closing sales and ensuring the success of this new vertical.
  • Partnering with our Sales Team to maintain a balanced pipeline of multiple opportunities in line with quarterly and annual growth objectives.

Qualifications:

What You Bring:

  • A proven history of success in selling SaaS or software solutions to public sector clients, particularly federal departments and agencies.
  • Experience in selling SaaS solutions within SLED (State, Local, Education).
  • Ability to travel as needed to engage with clients and prospects.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas, with a record of managing quotas of $1.5M or more.
  • Experience collaborating with resellers, VARs, distributors, small business partners, and large integrators to advance opportunities and secure new business.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hunter role, focused on generating new logo sales and building a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • At least 3 years of experience in selling security software.
  • A strong grasp of the public sector landscape, including government procurement processes and regulatory requirements.
  • The ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with exceptional time management and prioritization skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the capability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • A proven track record of discovering, developing, and closing new accounts.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and technology stacks while leading discovery and solution discussions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in B2B, AI, and/or startup environments.

Pay Transparency:

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, D.C., Blackbird.AI is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Washington D.C. and considers various factors in making compensation decisions. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is expected to be $110,000-$140,000. This range may vary for positions outside of Washington D.C. and does not account for bonus and commission structures.

During initial conversations with Blackbird.AI's Talent Team and Hiring Managers, candidates can expect to discuss any approved budget and details on our competitive incentive bonus or commission packages where applicable.
