Become a vital part of our mission as a Community Transit Engagement Specialist at ConnectVA

  • Design and implement a statewide transportation initiative aimed at enhancing public transit facilities and services
  • Partner with local stakeholders and community members to spearhead transit-centered initiatives
  • Engage with faith-based organizations, community leaders, businesses, and other entities for outreach and mobilization efforts
  • Produce informative materials, lead group discussions, interact with media, and assist in strategic planning
  • Focus on revising and executing the Transportation Initiative plan, fostering relationships with coalitions, and recruiting volunteers and interns
  • Must exhibit outstanding communication abilities, experience in community mobilization, and a commitment to environmental justice

Essential Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in creating and delivering training content
  • Proven success in collaborating with volunteers and faith-based communities
  • Background in event coordination and logistics
  • Dedication to environmental stewardship and interfaith collaboration
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • Understanding of various religious traditions and community organizing principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
  • Experience in media outreach and familiarity with public transit systems

Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $40,000 to $48,000 annually
