Position Overview

Client Support Specialist I/II

This role is integral to the Oklahoma Human Services team, focusing on providing essential support to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

Compensation:

  • Level I H21A - $40, Comprehensive State Employee Benefits
  • Level II H21B - $43, Comprehensive State Employee Benefits

Travel Requirements: This position necessitates extensive travel; candidates must possess a valid driver's license and maintain appropriate car insurance.

Essential Qualifications:

Client Support Specialist - Level I

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in a human services discipline, along with one year of relevant experience working directly with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

  • Applicants may also qualify with a valid permanent Oklahoma Nursing license, approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, plus one year of relevant experience.

Client Support Specialist - Level II

  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in a human services field, plus one year of professional experience in areas such as social work, case management, special education, psychology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, program coordination, nursing, or a closely related field.

  • Applicants may have a Bachelor's degree, plus one year of professional experience in the aforementioned fields, along with one year of general experience working directly with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

-OR-

  • Applicants with a valid permanent Oklahoma Nursing license, plus one year of professional experience with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, and one year of professional nursing experience in this area may also qualify.

*For the purposes of this role, a Bachelor's degree in a human services field encompasses any degree from an accredited institution, excluding degrees in physical, natural, or biological sciences or mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of a case management supervisor, this position delivers vital services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities residing in community settings; gathers comprehensive social histories, and develops and ensures access to community and agency resources tailored to meet the needs of clients.
  • This role is essential in ensuring compliance with Federal Home and Community Based Waiver regulations, as well as state and policy guidelines.
