Overview:

The Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness division is in search of a International Certification Systems Specialist to become a vital part of our team in Everett, Washington. This role is ideal for individuals eager to advance their careers in aviation regulations and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and regulatory bodies (including international authorities) to effectively validate projects for commercial aircraft production.
  • Examine certification strategies, liaise with FAA and CAAs, and possess a comprehensive understanding of the compliance process.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Coordinate technical communications and partner with the FAA on regulatory matters.
  • Manage and develop technical documentation to facilitate the execution of process/procedure documents.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across products, platforms, and functional areas to foster a culture of compliance with requirements and procedures.
  • Formulate strategic action plans for modifications to certification processes and see them through to completion.
  • Analyze existing certification/validation items and evaluate new validation requests to present a cohesive Boeing position to certifying authorities.
  • Oversee project management for assigned global region's activities, maintaining regional project milestones and progress trackers.
  • Drive regional priorities and performance to align with internal teams as well as FAA and foreign regulators.
  • Possess an advanced understanding of international agreements, including bilateral agreements between the FAA and CAA.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a hybrid model, requiring some onsite work as determined by the hiring team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, along with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of direct experience with FAA and/or ODA type Certification projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as an engineering unit member or another FAA delegated member.
  • Proficiency in navigating the certification value stream.
  • Strong communication skills for diverse audiences, including FAA representatives and leadership.
  • Experience in coaching and guiding others on certification processes and tools.
  • Ability to identify impacts of certification requirement changes on web applications.
  • Systems thinker capable of making engineering proposals based on data analysis.
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations to various organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex technical or regulatory issues.
  • Skill in recognizing and balancing conflicting priorities.

Compensation:

Pay is determined based on experience and qualifications, with a summary pay range for Mid-Level 3: $104,000 - $141,450 and Senior Level 4: $128,000 - $173,650.
