Parts Sales Consultant

This role involves a range of customer service tasks, including promoting, displaying, and stocking activities related to parts sales, as well as the receipt and delivery of parts and accessories that enhance the effective, safe, and profitable functioning of the parts department. The individual will assist customers in accurately identifying required items by utilizing electronic parts catalogs and other resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and professional parts department environment.
  • Document all sales transactions, including lost sales, using company systems and guidelines.
  • Ensure the retail sales floor and displays meet dealership standards and promote customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively manage inventory control by identifying and reporting discrepancies.
  • Guarantee timely delivery of correct parts to both internal and external customers.
  • Receive, ship, and store parts in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and product knowledge.
  • Facilitate the pickup and delivery of parts for customers and vendors as necessary.
  • Organize and store parts in the stockroom according to established systems and assist with inventory counts.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations while performing job duties and follow company policies as outlined in manuals and the employee handbook.
  • Present a professional image of RDO Equipment Co. in interactions with customers and the community.
  • Engage in company-sponsored training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in communication initiatives, including meetings and departmental huddles.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, management, and support staff, emphasizing teamwork and exceptional customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Formal training in parts management or relevant industry experience.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and technical terminology.
  • Preferred knowledge of parts operating systems.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Must possess valid work authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
