Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at LifeSpan. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Safe Patient Care: Assist in providing care to Emergency Department patients and their families from arrival to departure.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with Registered Nurses to set priorities and organize work, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate all pertinent observations to the responsible Registered Nurse, ensuring timely and accurate information sharing.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks: Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, as well as collect and record test results and specimen data.
  • Provide Supportive Care: Assist with oxygen therapy, set up cardiac monitoring devices, and perform other supportive care tasks as needed.
  • Maintain Patient Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information, adhering to established hospital standards.
  • Participate in Education and Training: Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competencies and stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Certifications: Current Rhode Island registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Skills: Effective interpersonal communication skills, ability to multi-task, and basic computer skills.
Working Environment

As a Patient Care Coordinator at LifeSpan, you will be exposed to a fast-paced patient care environment with frequent standing, walking, and sitting. You will work independently within department policies and practices, referring complex problems to supervisors as needed.
