Radiology Mammography Specialist

Position Overview:
The Mammography Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality mammographic services while ensuring exceptional patient care.
This position involves executing a range of mammographic procedures with independent judgment, ensuring the utmost quality in patient care and film evaluation.
- Operate various radiographic and auxiliary equipment, including mammographic, ultrasound, and stereotactic breast biopsy machines, along with mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment as required.
- Select appropriate film sizes, collimate, and position equipment accurately to the patient's anatomy to obtain clear and diagnostic radiographs.
- Assist radiologists in conducting fluoroscopic procedures by setting the necessary radiographic technique factors, preparing and administering opaque media, and positioning patients for required exposures.
- Responsible for the upkeep of mammography equipment and components; maintain Quality Control/Quality Assurance in compliance with MQSA programs and ACR, FDA, and TDH standards. Ensure all documentation is meticulously recorded and organized for immediate inspection if necessary.
- Exhibit proficiency in performing patient care responsibilities that cater to the specific and developmental needs of the patient population served by the department.
- Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific needs of each patient.
- Uphold the CORE VALUES of CHRISTUS Health in all aspects of work.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Mammography.
- Registered with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiography and Mammography required.
- Current state licensure is mandatory.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.
