Radiology Mammography Specialist

Position Overview:
The Mammography Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive mammographic services while ensuring exceptional patient care.
This position involves executing a range of mammographic examinations with a high degree of independence and professionalism, ensuring the utmost quality in imaging results.
- Operate diverse radiographic and auxiliary equipment, including mammographic, ultrasound, and stereotactic breast biopsy machines, along with mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic apparatus as required.
- Select appropriate film dimensions, collimate, and align equipment accurately to the patient's anatomy to generate clear and precise diagnostic images.
- Assist radiologists in conducting various fluoroscopic procedures by adjusting necessary radiographic settings, preparing and administering contrast media, and positioning patients for optimal imaging results.
- Responsible for the upkeep of mammography apparatus and components; ensures adherence to Quality Control/Quality Assurance protocols in line with MQSA programs and ACR, FDA, and TDH standards. Maintains organized documentation for potential inspections.
- Exhibit proficiency in performing designated patient care tasks that align with the specific needs of the diverse patient population served by the department.
- Skillfully modify patient assessment and care techniques to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and developmental requirements of each individual.
- Uphold the CORE VALUES of CHRISTUS Health in all aspects of work.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
- Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution is required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Mammography is required.
- Certification by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiography and Mammography is mandatory.
- Current state licensure is required.
- Valid BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.
