Overview:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role involves providing assistance to fellow imaging professionals as necessary. The technologist may be assigned to various locations and must possess the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance, engage in quality assurance activities, and address issues related to image processing and archiving systems. Effective communication and behavior must align with the core values and mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Exhibit proficiency in the relevant competencies: Self-Leadership, Leadership of Others, or Leadership of Leaders.
  2. Conduct a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including more complex tasks, while utilizing appropriate techniques and providing clear procedural instructions to patients.
  3. Assess patients for clinical contrast history and identify any potential contraindications.
  4. Comply with established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  5. Engage effectively with patients and healthcare providers by coordinating and prioritizing imaging procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and continuity.
  6. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to rotate among departments and clinics for adequate coverage.
  7. Assist Radiologists or other medical professionals during invasive and fluoroscopic procedures, using equipment to accurately identify anatomical locations.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures and adhere to Infection Control standards.
  9. Ensure accurate coding and entry of all charges.
  10. Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of each patient.
  11. Uphold patient confidentiality and refrain from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job performance.
  12. Demonstrate commitment to the core values of the organization.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Skills:

  1. Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized qualification is required.

Experience:

  1. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  1. Current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  2. Active state licensure is required.
  3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
