Overview:

The Imaging Specialist will be responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role includes providing assistance to fellow imaging professionals as required. The specialist may be assigned to various locations and must possess the capability to troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance, engage in quality assurance activities, and address issues related to image processing and archiving systems. Effective communication and behavior must reflect the core values and mission of CHRISTUS Health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibits proficiency in the relevant OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Self-Leadership, Team Leadership, or Executive Leadership.
  • Conducts a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including more intricate techniques, while ensuring proper methodology and delivering clear procedural instructions to patients.
  • Assesses patients for clinical contrast history and identifies any potential contraindications.
  • Follows established departmental and organizational protocols, quality assurance standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Engages appropriately with patients and healthcare providers by coordinating and prioritizing imaging procedures throughout the workday to uphold a high standard of patient care and continuity.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to rotate among departments and clinics to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Assists Radiologists or other medical professionals during invasive and fluoroscopic procedures, utilizing equipment to accurately identify anatomical locations.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures and comply with Infection Control standards.
  • Ensures accurate coding and entry of all charges.
  • Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Conducts all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job performance.
  • Exemplifies adherence to the core values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution required.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
  • Current registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  • Current state licensure is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
