Overview:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role involves collaboration with fellow imaging professionals and may require flexibility in working across various locations. The technologist should possess troubleshooting skills for basic equipment maintenance, engage in quality assurance activities, and address challenges related to image processing and archiving systems. Effective communication and behavior must reflect the core values and mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Exemplifies the competencies outlined by the organization, including self-leadership and leadership of others.
  2. Conducts a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including complex cases, while ensuring proper technique and providing clear procedural guidance to patients.
  3. Assesses patients for clinical contrast history and identifies any potential contraindications.
  4. Follows established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  5. Maintains effective communication with patients and healthcare providers, coordinating and prioritizing procedures to uphold high standards of patient care.
  6. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to rotate among departments and clinics to ensure adequate coverage.
  7. Assists Radiologists or other medical professionals during invasive and fluoroscopic procedures, utilizing equipment to accurately identify anatomical locations.
  8. Ensures that examination rooms are organized, clean, and sufficiently stocked prior to patient exams, adhering to infection control standards.
  9. Accurately codes and enters all charges related to imaging services.
  10. Adapts patient assessment and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of each individual.
  11. Maintains patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any sensitive information unless necessary for job functions.
  12. Embodies the core values of the organization in all professional interactions.
  13. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Skills:

  1. Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution.

Experience:

  1. 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  1. Current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  2. Valid state licensure is mandatory.
  3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
