Community Living Support Specialist

As a Community Living Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering direct assistance to individuals experiencing various mental health challenges within a residential environment. The role involves aiding individuals in developing daily living skills, facilitating transportation, enhancing skill sets, managing finances, administering medications, mitigating risks, and addressing other needs outlined in personalized treatment plans. Services are grounded in Recovery principles and aim to foster the overall health and well-being of those served. Available Positions: Full-time and part-time roles are offered.
Salary Range: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour, contingent upon program assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with individuals to collaboratively enhance their health and wellness, achieve symptom stabilization, and develop or restore skills affected by mental health conditions, facilitating a self-directed lifestyle.
- Support individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders in identifying personal priorities, strengths, and interests to establish recovery-oriented goals.
- Coordinate and provide transportation for residents to appointments and community activities.
- Handle administrative duties, including answering calls and completing necessary documentation.
- Assist with household responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning.
- Offer direct support and coaching to encourage social engagement and community involvement.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least one year of experience working with individuals who have severe and persistent mental health issues or substance use disorders is required in lieu of a college degree.
- Skills:
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Must obtain MAP certification within five months of hire and complete CPR/First Aid training during the orientation period (all training and certification will be provided).
- Additional Skills: Proficiency in ASL is a plus.
