NORTH SUFFOLK COMMUNITY SERVICES INC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to enhance our Facilities department. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will oversee and execute various maintenance and repair tasks as directed by the Facilities and Maintenance Director. This role includes participating in emergency on-call rotations and may require travel for off-site assignments.
Compensation: This position offers a pay range of $22-24/hr, along with paid on-call status, including reimbursement for phone and mileage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess project requirements and formulate job plans for the Director's approval.
- Provide estimates for materials, labor, and costs necessary to complete assigned tasks.
- Complete all required documentation, including work orders and purchase orders, ensuring accurate job records.
- Timely submission of equipment damage, loss, and accident reports.
- Return surplus materials and equipment to the maintenance department.
- Perform repairs utilizing modern technology while adhering to local and state regulations.
- Carry an emergency beeper and coordinate with vendors for emergency situations, ensuring proper follow-up until resolution.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Trade school attendance or certification is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in property management and facilities maintenance is necessary.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with basic construction and maintenance practices, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
- Knowledge of spill response, first aid, and CPR is essential.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
