POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Controls Engineer I is essential in assisting project managers by managing project timelines and budgets, providing analytical insights that predict future results based on past performance. This role requires collaboration with project teams to ensure effective project management, maintaining performance metrics, preparing cost estimates, and identifying recovery strategies when necessary. Additionally, this position encompasses various cost estimation and project oversight activities to ensure adherence to project timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish comprehensive cost and schedule baselines with defined scope and deliverables, integrating critical path methodologies.
  • Assist in sequencing activities, identifying milestones, and planning projects.
  • Apply Earned Value Management System (EVMS) standards and controls.
  • Conduct schedule assessments and analyses, emphasizing critical tasks.
  • Generate progress reports and maintain project documentation.
  • Support procurement processes and conduct project fee evaluations.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of project management methodologies.
  • Monitor cost trends, track changes, and ensure precise project status updates.
  • Assist in formulating corrective measures to address project discrepancies.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other administrative tasks related to projects as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in management, finance, or a related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in project controls, including cost estimation, project scheduling, and risk assessment.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Understanding of Project Controls EVMS processes and project management software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work both collaboratively and independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to obtain security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with EcoSys and a background in finance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position involves a combination of sedentary and active tasks, necessitating occasional lifting and movement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Primarily office-based work with moderate noise levels.
