Position Overview:
We are looking for an Information Security Specialist to become a vital part of our federal cyber security division. This position is chiefly responsible for operating within our laboratory setting to configure, secure, and evaluate our systems prior to deployment to our operational teams. Our cyber security division is at the cutting edge of the sector, providing energy management and security solutions to various military branches while safeguarding some of the nation's most essential networks.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Entry Level Information Security Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in our cyber security laboratory to receive, configure, secure, and assess equipment and systems before they are sent to the field for implementation.
  • Supporting senior cyber security specialists in achieving information assurance, certifications, and accreditations for Building Automation Systems (BAS) primarily utilizing Metasys and Tridium Niagara, Electronic Security Systems (ESS), and other Industrial Control Systems (ICS). This involves applying knowledge of ISSE, RMF, NIST, IA Program, Governance Policy & Directives, and Instructions to complete projects.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of comprehensive security engineering, relevant technology and process development, implementation of security testing, certification and accreditation processes, intrusion detection policy formulation, and security baseline management.
  • Coordinating and producing necessary IA documentation and artifacts for submissions and accreditation.
  • Conducting security scans and risk assessments on secured systems.
  • Assisting in delivering site-specific training for owners/operators on the accredited systems.
  • Upholding safety standards with a strong emphasis on employee safety.
  • Keeping management and clients informed of job progress and challenges.

Required Qualifications:

  • Progress towards a CompTIA Security+ certification; active certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.) and familiarity with the general Windows environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which includes a background check.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Information Assurance / Cyber Security principles.
  • Familiarity with NIST, NISPOM, and DSS processes.
  • Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF), FISMA, and DIACAP.
  • Experience in proposal or policy development in response to cybersecurity requirements.

Preferred Education:

  • Technical Certificate, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related field.
