Position Overview:

The Project Controls Engineer I plays a vital role in supporting project managers by overseeing project schedules and budgets, ensuring effective management of resources and timelines. This position is essential for delivering projects successfully while adhering to established performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project performance baselines, including scope, assumptions, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Support project managers in determining activity sequences and durations, while identifying key milestones for project success.
  • Implement Earned Value Management System (EVMS) standards and reporting mechanisms to track project performance.
  • Monitor project schedules, identifying critical activities and ensuring timely updates are made.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, staffing, and performance metrics.
  • Engage in cost analysis and forecasting to assess project health and identify potential recovery strategies.
  • Facilitate communication and reporting to convey project status and performance deviations effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in management, finance, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in project controls within engineering or construction environments.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management software and EVMS processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based, requiring prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing and walking. The environment is typically quiet to moderate in noise level.
