POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Project Controls Engineer I is essential in aiding project managers by managing project timelines and financials, providing valuable insights that predict future results based on past performance. This role requires collaboration with project teams to ensure effective project management, maintaining performance benchmarks, preparing cost estimates, and devising recovery strategies when necessary. The position also encompasses various cost estimation tasks and project oversight activities to keep projects aligned with objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish comprehensive cost and schedule baselines with defined scope and deliverables, integrating critical path scheduling.
  • Assist in sequencing activities, identifying milestones, and planning projects.
  • Apply Earned Value Management System (EVMS) standards and controls.
  • Conduct monitoring and analysis of schedules, emphasizing critical tasks.
  • Generate progress reports and maintain accurate project data.
  • Support procurement processes and conduct project fee assessments.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of project management methodologies.
  • Track cost trends, manage change orders, and ensure precise project status updates.
  • Help formulate corrective measures to address project discrepancies.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other administrative tasks related to projects as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in management, finance, or a related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in project controls, including cost estimation, project scheduling, and risk management.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Understanding of Project Controls EVMS processes and project management software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work both collaboratively and independently, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and eligibility to obtain security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with EcoSys and a background in finance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position involves a combination of sedentary and active tasks, requiring occasional lifting and movement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Primarily office-based work with moderate noise levels.
