Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior GN&C Specialist, your contributions will include:
- Overseeing the creation, verification, and validation of control systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft.
- Conducting modeling, simulation, and performance analysis of GN&C systems, ensuring stability and reliability.
- Engaging with partners to comprehend their design and testing data, and participating in collaborative testing efforts.
- Analyzing flight data and presenting insights to management.
- Mentoring junior engineers in the intricacies of control system modeling and analysis.
- Tackling complex challenges in the design and evaluation of control systems and simulations.
- Enhancing software tools and simulations for improved performance.
- Executing Monte Carlo simulations and conducting trade studies related to spacecraft control.
- Developing and debugging software in Matlab, Simulink, and Simscape.
- Preparing comprehensive technical reports and visual presentations of findings.
- Reviewing and creating engineering documentation.
We are looking for candidates with:
- A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, preferably from an ABET-accredited institution. Experience levels may vary from a PhD with 19 years to a BS with 25 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in designing flight control systems and actuator allocation methods.
- Strong analytical skills in evaluating system performance using various techniques.
- Proficiency in modeling and simulating launch vehicles and spacecraft.
- Experience in programming with Matlab, Simulink, and C/C++.
- A track record of software development, verification, and validation.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated individuals who can manage projects independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
Additional desirable skills include:
- Ability to derive spacecraft dynamics equations and integrate subsystem models.
- Familiarity with programming in Python.
- Understanding of trajectory and orbital dynamics.
- Experience in creating visualizations from simulation results.
- Knowledge of model-based design methodologies.
