Gana-A'Yoo, Limited (GYL) is on the lookout for a dedicated Government Proposal Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. This role involves crafting and evaluating proposal requests, developing strategic proposal plans, outlines, and timelines, and overseeing the proposal process for various subsidiaries and sponsors. The Government Proposal Specialist will be tasked with generating a diverse array of proposal content that adheres to specified terms and quality benchmarks. Collaboration with the Capture Manager, business development team, and executive sponsors is essential to align with organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates proposals by identifying concepts, collecting, and organizing information, drafting documents, and securing necessary approvals; clarifies proposal concepts by analyzing opportunities and requirements; engages in strategy discussions.
  • Ensures timely submission of proposals by prioritizing tasks and setting deadlines for information collection, writing, review, and approval; monitors progress and coordinates contributions; provides updates during review meetings.
  • Maintains high-quality outcomes by utilizing templates; adhering to proposal-writing standards such as clarity, consistency, and tone; managing proposal support databases.
  • Secures approvals by reviewing proposals with key stakeholders and project leaders.
  • Engages in activities that support the management functions of the team.
  • Collects proposal information by identifying sources; coordinating submissions and collections; recognizing and communicating risks associated with proposals.
  • Develops proposals by compiling information on project nature, objectives, deliverables, implementation methods, timelines, staffing, budgets, performance standards, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries and organizational credentials.
  • Tracks and reports on the status of all proposal components.
  • Performs additional tasks related to the position and various duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the team while maintaining a positive demeanor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in proposal writing.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in government contracting or federal proposal development.
  • Experience and understanding of compliance with government contract regulations.
  • Strong familiarity with general contract policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Skype for Business, and web collaboration tools such as SharePoint.
  • Experience with Alaska Native Corporations is preferred.
