Position Overview: The Senior Construction Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in steering construction initiatives, ensuring effective leadership, direction, and resource allocation for successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage park-wide construction initiatives, ensuring alignment with established budgets, timelines, and project specifications.
  • Develop and implement capital plans, ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution through a structured approval process.
  • Assist in the pre-qualification and assessment of potential construction vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with general contractors and vendors to coordinate site logistics, access requirements, and necessary insurance protocols.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design documents for construction, ensuring completeness and identifying necessary corrections.
  • Evaluate existing facility conditions to identify potential issues that may impact design documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental inspections and secure approvals leading to the final certificate of occupancy.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments, including Facility Engineering, Park Operations, and Entertainment, to facilitate project success.
  • Prepare comprehensive project work plans, schedules, estimates, and other planning documents that align with project scope, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Support the approval process for plans, schedules, and cost estimates through direct engagement with project stakeholders.
  • Manage all documentation necessary for site access and logistics for contractors and vendors.
  • Assist in presenting all required construction management processes, including RFPs, RFIs, and other essential documents.
  • Support the project team in progress payments and conduct related walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Coordinate staging area inventories to ensure timely arrival and dispatch of materials.
  • Supervise facility progress in accordance with the master schedule, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Oversee the punch list and close-out process, reviewing final submissions from contractors for all necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience within a general contracting or project management environment. Project Management certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of local codes and ordinances, with the ability to read and interpret construction documents and contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and contractors simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in conducting quantity surveys and estimating costs for materials, labor, and subcontractor work.
  • Familiarity with equipment, systems, and quality control processes relevant to construction and facility management.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

  • Experience in theme park operations is a plus.
