Role Overview:
The Automation Engineer II will leverage engineering principles and advanced process control tools to ensure that operational processes are optimized, capable, and consistently controlled. This role is essential in minimizing process variations and addressing special cause variations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, plan, and execute all electrical and instrumentation maintenance and project activities within the plant while minimizing disruptions to production.
- Oversee all facility PLC services and maintain associated control systems.
- Develop strategies to enhance the reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems within the plant.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of software and drawing equipment files.
- Assist in the formulation of electrical preventive maintenance (PM) activities and manage their efficiency and effectiveness.

Collaboration:
- Report directly to the Performance Improvement Manager.
- Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering Managers to implement changes in production processes and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Project Management:
- Manage automation-related projects, providing weekly updates to plant management.
- Participate in Focus Improvement teams to address critical process and production challenges alongside customers and vendors.

System Development:
- Develop and maintain PLC/HMI systems across various operational levels and ensure the upkeep of automation-related systems (PLC/HMI/VFD/Instrumentation/Network), implementing necessary updates to prevent technical obsolescence.

Training and Safety:
- Provide training for operators and maintenance staff.
- Continuously assess the workplace for safety hazards and ensure that behavioral safety initiatives are achieved.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in electrical process control, instrumentation, automation, and data communication systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley, PLC Rockwell Automation, and Control Logics.
