Travel Requirements:

WR Systems is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to engage in the development and production of prototype products. This role involves creating 3D models and fabrication drawings, conducting feasibility studies, and collaborating on the advancement of diverse products and systems.

In this position, you will oversee installation processes, assess field implementations, and gather operational data, playing a crucial role in ensuring compliance with specifications and enhancing machine efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce 3D models for both simple and intricate components, ensuring they meet performance standards, and generate fabrication and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough research and data analysis, including customer design proposals and specifications, to evaluate design feasibility, focusing on elements such as instruments, controls, robotics, engines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.
  • Implement design modifications to improve safety and address related impacts, perform stress and material strength evaluations, and collaborate on the creation of test control apparatus and equipment.
  • Coordinate activities associated with product installation, operation, maintenance, and repair, ensuring compliance with engineering designs and customer specifications.
  • Design products and systems to integrate machines, hardware, and software, assess field installations, and suggest enhancements for better functionality.
  • Compile operational, testing, and research data.
  • Prepare fabrication solicitations to acquire pricing estimates for components within assemblies or systems, analyzing results to identify the best value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in engineering design, testing, and analysis in areas such as shock and vibration, or airborne and structure-borne noise.
  • Experience in harness layout for optimizing mechanical design for accessibility and ease of repair and replacement.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, with a preference for Autodesk products.
  • Understanding of technical drawing principles in accordance with ASME Y14.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience in a contractual project/work environment is advantageous.
  • Equivalent experience in a mechanical engineering discipline may be considered in lieu of a degree based on domain experience and contractual requirements.
