This role focuses on the development of Hybrid Electric systems, which are pivotal for the future of the energy industry. Working alongside esteemed partners, you will contribute to transformative technologies that promote sustainability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:

  • Analyze client specifications and select optimal power converter configurations to fulfill project requirements.
  • Develop control algorithms and simulate power systems utilizing MATLAB/Simulink and PLECS or similar tools to enhance design processes.
  • Collaborate with software teams to implement embedded control algorithms in digital signal processors and/or FPGA as dictated by project needs.
  • Tune control loops, troubleshoot, and validate control algorithms for power electronic devices, including converters and inverters used in various applications.
  • Conduct testing of embedded motor controllers or power electronic circuits using digital communication tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and Bode plot machines in a laboratory setting.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Lead validation efforts to ensure the functionality of equipment.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Eligibility to work with technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would enhance your application include:

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3 years of experience in developing control systems for power electronic and rotating equipment applications.
  • Strong understanding of various motor types and their analytical models for simulation and control.
  • Proficiency in power electronic circuits, topologies, and their characteristics.
  • Hands-on experience with C embedded programming and microprocessors.
  • Experience with FPGA designs and the ability to interpret hardware description languages.
  • Capability to read schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Experience operating standard electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
