Job Summary:

An Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to deliver an excellent Guest experience while evaluating guest satisfaction and setting department targets and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Housekeeping Operations Oversight: Ensure the smooth operation of housekeeping services, including laundry and linen management.
  • Guest Satisfaction Evaluation: Regularly assess guest satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement to enhance the overall Guest experience.
  • Departmental Leadership: Lead and manage the Housekeeping/Laundry team, ensuring they are trained and equipped to deliver exceptional service.
  • Financial Management: Operate within departmental budgets, implementing effective stock and cost controls, and well-managed schedules to optimize efficiency.
  • Strategic Planning: Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures to drive business growth and excellence.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect and monitor all fixtures, fittings, and appliances to ensure compliance with standards and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Team Performance: Monitor the appearance, standards, and performance of the Housekeeping/Laundry team, emphasizing training and teamwork to achieve excellence.
  • Knowledge and Communication: Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities, maintaining good communication and work relationships with hotel staff and external customers and suppliers.
  • Staffing and Training: Ensure staffing levels cover business demands, provide ongoing training, and conduct regular communication meetings with post-meeting minutes generated.
  • Performance Management: Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Team Development: Recruit, manage, train, and develop the Housekeeping/Laundry team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Technical Competence: Be competent in property management systems and assist other departments as needed.
  • Brand Ambassador: Represent the Gulf Shores Holiday Inn Express brand, embodying its culture, mission, and values.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Housekeeping/laundry experience: Proven experience in housekeeping or laundry operations in a hotel, leisure, or retail sector, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Quore Proficiency: Proficiency in Quore, a property management system.
  • Leadership and Management: A successful track record of managing a large team, with a high level of commercial awareness and cost control capabilities.
  • Education: A high school certificate or equivalent.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a commitment to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work under pressure, with flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs, with strong organizational, budget management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Guest Service: A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
