Overview:


A Sales Field Operations Manager is responsible for achieving the sales volume and distribution goals of the organization by effectively managing and mentoring a team of sales representatives. This role involves strategic planning, organization, training, and execution to ensure that performance standards are met.


Key Responsibilities:
Leads and mentors a team of sales representatives.


Conducts productive one-on-one sales meetings with team members, clearly communicating sales objectives and initiatives, identifying opportunities, reviewing performance metrics, and providing guidance on closing performance gaps.

Develops and assesses performance improvement plans for each sales representative by maintaining training documentation, conducting evaluations, overseeing 90-day assessments for new hires, executing coaching calls, completing MBOs, and following up on progress as necessary.

Addresses skill gaps among sales representatives by creating tailored coaching plans, monitoring progress, and documenting improvements.

Prepares for each sales period by holding individual meetings with each representative, strategizing on how to meet goals and objectives, and assisting representatives in defining target accounts when applicable.

Participates in the recruitment and selection process by collaborating with human resources to source candidates, schedule interviews, conduct interviews, and manage the onboarding process.


Exhibits a strong customer focus by maintaining relationships with key accounts, identifying account opportunities, conducting customer business reviews, developing initial orders with new accounts, managing open territories, and addressing customer complaints.


Oversees supplier surveys by planning routes, pre-surveying accounts, conducting surveys with suppliers, summarizing survey results, and scheduling sales representatives as necessary.

Coordinates supplier ride-alongs by collaborating with Business Managers to schedule sales representatives.
Resolves customer issues by adhering to established administrative processes and company policies, escalating issues to management as appropriate.

Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor may also be required.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience
Proficient in PC skills using MS Office and various computer applications, including presentation software
Must be a results-driven professional with strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating diplomacy and discretion, as well as customer service capabilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and/or collaboratively, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Utilizes sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
Possession of a valid driver's license
Preferred

Additional Qualifications:

Ability to obtain a Solicitor's Permit
Knowledge of Wine and Spirits

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.

Competencies:
May assist in coordinating the work of junior team members.
Resolves issues that are often varied and non-routine, undertaking analysis and investigation to address challenges.
