Job Overview

Position: Accounting Manager, bilingual Korean - Hybrid work arrangement


Role Summary:
The successful applicant will possess over 2 years of experience in an accounting capacity, alongside a minimum of 5 years in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Asset management, showcasing exceptional teamwork abilities.


Key Responsibilities:


Team Leadership:

  • Direct and oversee multiple accounting teams: Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Fixed Assets (FA).
  • Conduct regular meetings with various departments to address accounting-related challenges.
  • Assess existing processes and implement changes in collaboration with the Director and CFD.
  • Foster team performance, set objectives, and provide continuous training.
  • Offer support during team members' absences.
  • Review compliance documents including 1099, Personal Property Tax (PPT), Sales/Use Tax, Unclaimed Property, and conduct FA Bi-Annual Audits.
  • Assist the team in liaising with headquarters as necessary to resolve issues.

SOX Compliance:

  • Lead and motivate employees across accounting, finance, and external departments to ensure adherence to internal compliance systems, providing necessary documentation for Korean SOX compliance.

Balance Sheet Management:

  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and collaborate with employees to maintain a clean balance sheet.

Month-End Procedures:

  • Coordinate and support the monthly closing processes to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley, and corporate compliance standards.
  • Provide finance support and approvals for journal entries, adhering to strict deadlines.

Audit Support:

  • Assist AP, AR, and FA teams during quarterly and annual audits with both internal and external auditors.
  • Conduct quarterly audits on AP, AR, and FA teams to ensure proper accounting practices.

Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation, review, or completion of reports related to AP and FA.

All other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:


Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required.
  • At least 2 years in a managerial position.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members across finance and divisional departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask due to various urgent deadlines.
  • Experience in automotive accounting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in Korean and English is required.
