Job Overview

Summary:
The successful applicant will possess over 2 years of experience in accounting, particularly in management roles, alongside a minimum of 5 years in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Asset management. Strong teamwork abilities are essential.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Team Leadership:
    Direct and oversee various accounting teams, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Fixed Assets (FA).
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    Conduct regular meetings with different departments to address and resolve accounting-related issues.
  • Process Improvement:
    Assess existing practices and implement changes in coordination with the Director and CFD.
  • Performance Management:
    Develop and manage team performance metrics, set goals, and provide continuous training.
  • Support Coverage:
    Offer backup assistance when team members are unavailable.
  • Compliance Review:
    Oversee the review of 1099 forms, Personal Property Tax, Sales/Use Tax, Unclaimed Property, and conduct Bi-Annual Audits for Fixed Assets.
  • Communication Support:
    Assist the team in liaising with headquarters as necessary to resolve issues.

SOX Compliance:
Lead and motivate employees across accounting and finance, as well as external departments, in utilizing the internal Samsung system (SIRENS) to fulfill monthly, quarterly, and year-end compliance requests related to Korean SOX.


Balance Sheet Management:
Review balance sheet reconciliations and collaborate with various employees to ensure a clean balance sheet.


Month-End Closing:
Coordinate and assist with monthly closing activities to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Samsung Corporate Compliance. Provide month-end financial support and approvals for journal entries while adhering to strict deadlines.


Audit Coordination:
Assist AP, AR, and FA teams during quarterly and annual audits with both internal and external auditors. Conduct quarterly audits on AP, AR, and FA teams to ensure proper accounting practices.


Reporting:
Provide assistance in the preparation, review, or completion of AP and FA reports.


All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various finance team members and divisional departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask due to various urgent deadlines from headquarters.
  • Experience in automotive accounting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in Korean and English is required.
