POSITION: BILINGUAL PROJECT MANAGER (ENGLISH-KOREAN)

LOCATION: AUBURN HILLS, MI

OBJECTIVE

We are looking for a Bilingual Project Manager (English-Korean) who possesses strong fluency in both spoken and written English and Korean to assist various teams and projects. This position will involve working collaboratively to perform written translations (documents, emails, schedules, reports, etc.) and oral interpretations (meetings, recorded messages, video recordings, etc.) between English and Korean. Additionally, this role will encompass project management responsibilities, reporting, facilitating presentations, and executing other related tasks as assigned.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Serve as a language translator for English to Korean and vice-versa.
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives in securing bid opportunities with Korean vendors involved in construction and equipment installations in the US.
  • Build and nurture new customer relationships across various markets and industries.
  • Engage in the bidding / RFQ process for Korean projects in the US on select bids to gain insight into CCC estimating and align expectations between CCC and Korean vendors for quoting.
  • Fulfill Project Manager responsibilities: scheduling, submittals, budget oversight, billing, invoicing, quality assurance, status reporting to clients and upper management, interaction with tradesmen/payroll, identifying and resolving various site challenges, and striving for a zero-safety incident work environment.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail.
  • Uphold confidentiality as required.
  • Travel may be necessary to project sites.
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in and outside of translation.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Proficiency in both English and Korean in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to deliver quality interpretation and translation services promptly.
  • Capability to estimate time required for translation tasks and produce translated materials within set timelines.
  • Quick adaptability to current technical terms/concepts/trends.
  • Strong research and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, fostering positive relationships through effective collaboration.
  • Understanding of cultural nuances of Korea is essential.
  • Experience in translating/interpreting within a business context is highly preferred.
  • Background in translating/interpreting in industrial, battery, construction, commercial, technical, engineering, or related fields is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ideal candidates will have some knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, technology, equipment, methods, accounting principles, and engineering principles/techniques.
  • Experience with automotive projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with maintenance contracts is preferred.
  • Estimation and scheduling skills are preferred.
  • Experience with self-performing general contractors is preferred.
