Regional Operations Manager at KIPP NYC

About the Organization: KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network comprising 18 free, public charter schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. We collaborate with families and communities to establish engaging and rigorous educational environments aimed at fostering a more equitable society. Since our inception in 1995 with KIPP Academy in the Bronx, we have envisioned a future where every child has the freedom to shape their own destiny and that of their communities. Our network now includes eight elementary schools, nine middle schools, one high school, and KIPP Forward, a comprehensive initiative designed to assist our students and alumni in selecting and preparing for educational and career paths aligned with their aspirations and purpose. Currently, KIPP NYC serves over 11,000 students and alumni, supported by a dedicated staff, including many alumni.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that all schools uphold precise and comprehensive student records and data across both internal and external platforms, while overseeing annual student file audits.
- Assist with Per Pupil Billing systems by gathering and analyzing billing and compliance data for all 19 schools, including the development of monthly dashboards for student data and audits. Maintain communication with district partners regarding students residing outside the five boroughs.
- Oversee weekly communications for the Operations team and manage Ops Resources, Look Ahead Page, and KIPP:Go, which serve as informational hubs for school operations teams.
- Draft written materials for various stakeholders, including Regional Leadership, KIPP NYC Board, regional staff meetings, and network-wide communications.
- Develop, maintain, and revise project plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with the KIPP NYC Finance team to support Title 1 and McKinney Vento programming.
- Assist the Regional Director of Operations (RDO) with special projects as required, acting as the primary contact for all special project initiatives.
- Manage the Systems Access Document, detailing all relevant systems that necessitate communication and coordination with the NYC Department of Education.
- Act as a strategic partner with the RDO to ensure the implementation of effective and efficient systems across all operations.
- Monitor the effectiveness of daily systems and report any obstacles directly to the RDO to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Promptly escalate any concerns or challenges to the RDO.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree is required, along with a minimum of 4 years of experience in school operations or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Google systems; familiarity with Automate the System, Asana, PowerSchool, Tableau, and Vendor Portal is advantageous.
- Outstanding organizational, planning, and project management abilities, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to produce high-quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate productive working relationships with diverse stakeholders across the organization.

Additional Information:
The KIPP NYC Regional Operations Manager position offers a competitive salary range of $80,340 to $92,700. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and function. Individual salaries are determined through an equitable lens, considering years of relevant experience and scope of responsibilities, and benchmarked against others within the same salary band.
