Position Overview:

The English Language Arts Instructor will be responsible for delivering a challenging and engaging curriculum that aligns with both the institution's standards and the New York State educational guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum that meets educational standards.
  • Engaging students through innovative and effective teaching methods.
  • Fostering professional growth by collaborating with fellow educators.
  • Utilizing data analytics to inform instructional strategies.
  • Regularly evaluating student performance and communicating outcomes to families and colleagues.
  • Providing tailored support to students requiring additional assistance through individual or small group instruction.
  • Exemplifying a commitment to student success through a proactive and supportive approach.
  • Demonstrating the school's core values in all interactions with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that promote a collaborative work environment and embody the character traits we prioritize: enthusiasm, resilience, optimism, compassion, social awareness, appreciation, and humor.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience is highly preferred.
  • Possession of New York State teacher certification in the relevant subject area.
  • A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • A strong commitment to contributing to a team-oriented, mission-driven educational environment.
  • A desire to enhance teaching skills by becoming an integral part of the KIPP NYC community.
  • Proven success in improving student achievement within diverse educational settings.

Compensation and Benefits:

KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary range from $69,440 to $142,270 annually. Salary determination is based on an equitable scale that considers relevant experience, certification status, and tenure within the KIPP network.

In addition, KIPP NYC provides a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
