Role Summary:
The Student Recruitment & Enrollment Associate will be instrumental in implementing strategies to achieve KIPP NYC's enrollment objectives. Collaborating closely with the Student Recruitment & Enrollment team and school-based Operations Teams, this role involves providing prospective families with essential information about KIPP NYC and assisting them throughout the application and enrollment journey. The ideal candidate will engage with families, nurture partnerships with community organizations, and support school operations, all while embodying the mission of KIPP NYC to create joyful and academically excellent schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute outreach plans to connect with prospective families within school communities.
  • Communicate KIPP NYC's mission effectively, serving as a representative of the organization.
  • Build and maintain trust with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Establish partnerships with local community organizations.
  • Promote applications through community engagement activities such as flyering and attending events.
  • Assist families with the registration process to enhance regional enrollment.
  • Provide administrative support by documenting interactions with prospective families and reporting to the External Affairs Team.
  • Support school staff in organizing family-oriented events.
  • Coordinate the new student lottery in accordance with legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or community engagement.
  • Innovative thinker capable of implementing effective solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Commitment to a collaborative, mission-driven organizational culture.
  • Familiarity with community events and the educational landscape of New York City.
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods and carry materials as needed.
  • Willingness to work across various neighborhoods.
  • Understanding of KIPP's mission and belief in the importance of family engagement.
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in using technology and adaptable to new software.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for the Student Recruitment & Enrollment Associate position ranges from $60,770 to $69,010, determined by role level and relevant experience.
