The ICT Special Education teacher will partner with a general education instructor in an inclusive classroom environment to enhance the learning experience for all students. Qualifications:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills that contribute to a collaborative work environment and embody the character traits we prioritize: enthusiasm, resilience, optimism, compassion, social awareness, appreciation, and humor.
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- New York State teacher certification in the relevant subject area.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- A strong commitment to being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven educational culture.
- A genuine desire to enhance teaching skills by joining the KIPP NYC community.
- Proven success in improving the academic performance of students from the communities served by KIPP NYC.
Compensation and Benefits:
KIPP NYC provides a competitive salary range from $69,440 to $142,270 annually. Salaries are determined based on an equitable compensation framework that considers relevant years of experience, NYS certification status, and tenure within the KIPP network.
The benefits package includes:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Generous time-off policies, including five school vacation weeks, sick and personal days, and an extended summer break.
- Up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave.
- Back-up child and elder care services.
- Employer-paid life insurance and short-term/long-term disability coverage.
- Employee incentives such as an 8-week paid sabbatical after ten years, annual professional development funds, and tuition reimbursement.
