Position Overview
The IT department at Airtable is in search of an IT Systems Engineer to facilitate the integration of Airtable into current systems and enhance its internal enterprise usage.

Key Responsibilities
As a member of Airtable's internal deployment team, you will:

  • Coordinate the collection, prioritization, and execution of Airtable requests from various business units.
  • IT Engineering: Provide training to fellow IT engineers on developing and supporting sophisticated Airtable solutions. Enhance existing IT workflows by utilizing Airtable automations to boost functionality and performance.
  • Service Desk: Collaborate with IT Support to improve Airtable-connected applications and maintain existing integrations.
  • New Workflows: Support employees or teams transitioning from spreadsheets or third-party SaaS to Airtable, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and documentation of complex workflow requirements.
  • New Feature Implementation: Regularly expand the capabilities of existing bases by integrating new features as they become available. Develop solution design and implementation plans that outline project scope, timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Create documentation and enablement materials for centrally governed connected applications.
  • Conduct formal training sessions for IT personnel.
  • Gather and document feedback for product development regarding functionality and user experience.
  • Identify critical feature gaps that hinder the use of Airtable for specific business workflows.
  • Design and implement automation to ensure IT processes are repeatable, scalable, and secure.
  • Write code to interface with webhooks or create API integrations to optimize and connect our SaaS applications.
  • Guide decisions on whether to build or buy integrations and tools for IT and other departments.
  • Administer, develop, and support Airtable's corporate-connected applications.
  • Implement best practices across supported connected applications.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • 8+ years of experience in IT Engineering.
  • A solution-oriented mindset with a focus on impactful implementations.
  • Experience in administering and developing SaaS applications, including Google Workspace and Slack.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices and agile methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in gathering user requirements and managing distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of project management experience (PMP certification preferred).
  • Proven success in cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in database design best practices.
  • Proficiency in writing shell, Python, or JavaScript code for API interfacing and automation.
  • A collaborative approach and adaptability in cross-functional environments.
