Position Overview:
The Employees Retirement System is seeking a seasoned Enterprise Systems Administrator to oversee the design, installation, administration, and security of enterprise computing systems. This role is crucial in ensuring that our IT infrastructure aligns with strategic objectives and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the design and support of platform systems, including Windows, Active Directory, and Exchange, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Oversee the administration of infrastructure systems, including VMware products and data storage solutions, to maintain reliability and efficiency.
- Implement and manage backup systems, ensuring data protection and recovery processes are effectively executed.
- Administer monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve issues affecting system availability.
- Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance the agency's IT capabilities and performance.
- Provide risk assessments and recommendations regarding system features and integrations.
- Develop and document best practices and operational procedures to ensure quality control.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and exercises to maintain operational readiness.
- Adhere to IT service management standards, including change management protocols.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- A degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as computer science or information systems.
- A minimum of six years of experience in an enterprise technology environment, specifically with Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Active Directory.
Preferred Skills:
Additional qualifications that are advantageous include:
- Experience in managing virtualized server environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring solutions and server/storage management.
- Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP and DNS.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE or CompTIA Security+.
