Position: Human Resources Generalist

SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for implementing various human resources strategies and procedures for all personnel within the organization. This role involves assisting in the formulation and execution of personnel policies and procedures, as well as maintaining the employee handbook and policies manual. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven, goal-oriented, and reliable individual capable of fostering ongoing relationships. A confident demeanor and a friendly attitude are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
  • Contributing to the development of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Managing the compensation program; overseeing the performance evaluation process and making necessary adjustments.
  • Administering benefits, including enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit details to employees.
  • Creating and maintaining an affirmative action program; filing necessary reports and ensuring compliance with EEO regulations.
  • Conducting recruitment efforts for all levels of personnel; facilitating new employee orientations; coordinating pre-employment screenings; drafting and placing job advertisements.
  • Providing employee relations support, including counseling, outplacement services, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Participating in administrative meetings and attending relevant seminars; maintaining organizational charts and employee directories.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of departmental reports, decisions, and outcomes in relation to established objectives; recommending new strategies and policies to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Maintaining Human Resource Information System records and generating reports from the database.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • In-depth understanding of personnel administration principles and practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE
An Associate's Degree is required; a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred. A minimum of three to five years of experience in Human Resources is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software is also required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, procedures, and governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and policy manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and address various variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
