Reports To: Estimation Manager


GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE

At TNT, Inc., we specialize in providing comprehensive materials handling solutions, consulting services, and general contracting for various industries including mining, minerals processing, and bulk materials. Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents and analyze drawings, designs, and specifications to prepare accurate schedules, cost estimates, and bid documents.
  • Calculate labor, equipment, and material costs for each estimate.
  • Identify and recommend suitable vendors and subcontractors, obtaining quotations and collaborating with engineering specialists to refine estimates.
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather and verify the necessary commitments for cost estimates.
  • Maintain a centralized estimating database to store historical data from project records.
  • Propose enhancements to cost estimating procedures to minimize discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
  • Ensure all tenders comply with company bidding processes and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of all proposal documents, including cover letters, methods statements, and clarifications.
  • Prepare backup estimates and manage documentation according to company procedures.
  • Support project management to ensure seamless transitions from tendering to project execution.
  • Be prepared for site visits and inspections, which may include international travel. A valid passport is required.
  • Deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders regarding submitted proposals.
  • Conduct risk assessments and reviews to ensure accuracy in estimates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in estimating within the materials handling or mining sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency in estimating software and productivity tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
