Position Title: Estimator

Department: Business Development

Reports To: Estimation Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

At TNT, Inc., we specialize in providing comprehensive materials handling solutions, consulting services, and general contracting for various industries including mining, minerals processing, and bulk materials. As part of the Cementation Americas group, we prioritize safety and foster strong relationships with our clients and employees, aiming for long-term success.

We are currently in search of a skilled Estimator who will collaborate closely with our Business Development, Engineering, and Operations teams to effectively respond to client tender requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate tender drawings, specifications, and related documentation to create schedules, cost estimates, and bid proposals.
  • Determine labor, equipment, and material requirements for each estimate.
  • Identify and recommend potential vendors and subcontractors, obtaining necessary quotations and consulting with specialists.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather and review necessary information for accurate cost estimates.
  • Maintain a centralized estimating database for historical project data.
  • Suggest improvements to estimating procedures to minimize discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
  • Prepare tenders in alignment with company bidding protocols.
  • Assist in fulfilling proposal deliverables, including drafting cover letters, method statements, and other necessary documentation.
  • Compile backup estimates and manage documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Support project management to ensure seamless transition from tendering to project execution.
  • Willingness to travel for site inspections and meetings, which may include international assignments.
  • Deliver presentations to clients regarding submitted proposals.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure accuracy in estimating processes.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in estimating within the materials handling or mining sectors.
  • Proficient in estimating software and productivity tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
