Position Overview:
As a key member of our team, the Construction Cost Specialist will play a vital role in managing financial aspects of construction projects within the semiconductor sector. Key Responsibilities:
1. **Cost Estimation and Management:**
- Develop and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Create and present detailed cost plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with design teams and contractors to refine cost estimates.

2. **Communication and Coordination:**
- Engage with contractors and project managers to gather status updates for cost estimation.
- Prepare comprehensive feedback on contractor submissions, including executive summaries.
- Coordinate cost information from various sources for effective discussions.

3. **Proactive Problem Solving:**
- Drive engineering priorities based on cost implications.
- Address scheduling challenges with minimal supervision.
- Conduct thorough cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate processes.

4. **Post-Contract Management:**
- Oversee cost controls and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure effective management of cost variances and change control processes.
- Compile monthly cost reports for client presentations and negotiate final accounts promptly.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction cost management, particularly in large-scale manufacturing or semiconductor projects.
- Educational background in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
- Familiarity with RICS accreditation is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of construction industry practices, including procurement routes and value engineering.
