Role Overview: General Contracting Estimator

Do you possess a meticulous eye for detail and a desire to see projects come to fruition? Are you interested in a career that leverages your numerical skills and industry expertise in a significant role? With the backing of our self-performing team, the General Contracting Estimator position may be the ideal opportunity for your professional growth.

Primarily based at our headquarters, the General Contracting Estimator will support our self-performing division while assisting with project management tasks as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with owners, architects, partners, and team members.
  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive estimate take-offs.
  • Review and analyze drawings and specifications, clarifying contractual terms and conditions.
  • Build and manage relationships with teammates, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare for bid day, developing pricing and schedules, and coordinating bid submissions.
  • Ensure a complete and responsible bid, regularly updating job cost and labor cost reports.
  • Assist teammates with project management duties as needed.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, embodying our values of trust, honesty, fairness, integrity, compassion, and appreciation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Critical thinking skills to optimize project outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proactive in anticipating needs and addressing issues.
  • Self-motivated with a strong follow-through to meet deadlines.
  • Technologically adept, with the ability to quickly learn new software and tools.
Preferred Skills

  • High emotional intelligence, enabling effective collaboration with diverse individuals.
  • Familiarity with construction-specific software such as ProCore, ViewPoint, and Microsoft Project.
