- Provides inspection and documentation services on civil construction projects (roadway, bridge, and intersection improvements) throughout Michigan.
- Reads and interprets construction plans and documents, computes quantities and verifies measurements and layouts.
- Performs site data collection and verifies existing conditions.
- Sampling, testing, density control, material certification, and reporting as necessary.
- Maintains detailed daily logs and submits progress reports and pay documentation.
- Collaborates with other construction and design staff to complete projects on budget.
- Works productively with all project stakeholders (contractor, owner, and residents) to resolve issues in a professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations.
- Utilize expertise in zipper wall inspection to identify and address potential issues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Certification required.
- Experience with infrastructure projects and construction inspection.
- High School diploma or GED required; A.S. degree in Construction Technology or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel and Word) required.
- Experience with Fieldbook, ProjectWise, and MicroStation desired.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
