  • Provides inspection and documentation services on civil construction projects (roadway, bridge, and intersection improvements) throughout Michigan.
  • Reads and interprets construction plans and documents, computes quantities and verifies measurements and layouts.
  • Performs site data collection and verifies existing conditions.
  • Sampling, testing, density control, material certification, and reporting as necessary.
  • Maintains detailed daily logs and submits progress reports and pay documentation.
  • Collaborates with other construction and design staff to complete projects on budget.
  • Works productively with all project stakeholders (contractor, owner, and residents) to resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations.
  • Utilize expertise in zipper wall inspection to identify and address potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Certification required.
  • Experience with infrastructure projects and construction inspection.
  • High School diploma or GED required; A.S. degree in Construction Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel and Word) required.
  • Experience with Fieldbook, ProjectWise, and MicroStation desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
