Project Manager (Electronic Security)

Key Responsibilities:

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the scope, timeline, budget, quality, and client satisfaction of projects throughout their lifecycle, from initiation to closure. Your role will primarily involve effective communication with all project stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include managing and executing project management functions on all client site projects, including budgets and scopes. You will be the accountable individual for your assigned projects, directing various internal and external personnel.

Daily Activities:

Your daily tasks will encompass project communications, scheduling, creating task lists for technicians, managing deliverables from various departments, and ensuring project completion meets or exceeds client expectations. You will be accountable for delivering systems integration projects on time and within budget while achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to managing projects and communicating with stakeholders.

As the primary client interface, you will cultivate a strong, long-term relationship, managing expectations, communications, and overall satisfaction.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Provide clear leadership and ownership for the project, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Coordinate all activities to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget, engaging stakeholders and delegating responsibilities effectively.
  • Facilitate frequent communication among stakeholders, offering support to team members as needed.
  • Direct technical and administrative support to project team members and maintain project schedules.
  • Conduct field verification of prospective work sites and document any issues.
  • Manage all drawings and documentation among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead design reviews to ensure proper documentation and coordinate system programming and final checks.
  • Provide a punch-list of remaining tasks post-completion.
  • Oversee training and transition of projects to clients and relevant departments.

Physical Demands:

The role may involve exposure to construction site conditions. You will be responsible for your safety and compliance with safety regulations. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is typically required. You may need to spend significant time on your feet and occasionally lift materials up to 20 pounds. You will also use various office equipment when not on-site.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires frequent travel by car and occasional air travel. A valid driver's license is necessary. Local travel to client sites will constitute the majority of travel requirements.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic security systems.
  • Valid driver's license in your state of residence.

Preferred:

  • Experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.
  • Certification as a Security Project Manager (CSPM).
  • Knowledge of Lenel, Genetec, and Avigilon certifications.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is preferred.
