Position Overview
This role is for an Aviation Support Systems Technician within the National Guard. You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for maintaining and repairing essential power and support equipment utilized in aircraft servicing and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on ground power and support equipment.
  • Assist in the refueling and defueling processes of aircraft.

Employment Conditions
  • Membership in the National Guard is a prerequisite.
  • Mandatory participation in direct deposit.
  • Compliance with Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959.
  • Federal employment suitability determined by a background investigation.
  • May require successful completion of a probationary period.
  • Must obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
  • Adherence to the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment of the Gun Control Act.
  • Ability to foster effective professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal hours, including potential overtime.
  • Awareness of environmental responsibilities related to the role.

Qualifications
General Experience:
Demonstrated experience or training in mechanical maintenance, including the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics, as well as proficiency with hand tools and troubleshooting equipment.

Specialized Experience:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess at least 18 months of experience or training in the removal, adjustment, replacement, cleaning, and installation of parts and components. A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems related to powered support equipment is essential. Familiarity with aircraft refueling and bulk fuel handling is preferred but not mandatory.
