Position Overview

The Lead Performance Engineer for Telecom Solutions at MOUNTAIN, LTD. is a pivotal role that involves the development and maintenance of comprehensive engineering solutions tailored for both traditional and wireless telecommunications providers throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities

This role encompasses a variety of engineering tasks including:

  • Design and Engineering: Execute detailed outside plant facility engineering tasks, including estimating, analyzing, and designing network infrastructure for copper and fiber optic systems.
  • Project Management: Track budgets and compare estimates against actual costs for various installations, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and reports. Develop loop loss designs for load and repeater electronics.
  • Field Measurements: Conduct measurements for pole, conduit, and buried facility designs to align with company and industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform periodic inspections and quality control checks on engineering projects.
  • Data Collection: Gather field data and organize permit packages for submission to relevant authorities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to design and implement network elements that provide Fiber to the Home, Copper DSL, Metro-E Ethernet, TDM, Sonet, and fiber solutions.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Expertise in engineering principles related to outside plant operations.
  • Experience managing teams of OSP Engineers and reviewing their work.
  • Proficiency in engineering routine and complex work orders.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and computer-aided drafting systems.
  • Personal tools necessary for field measurements and data collection.
  • Familiarity with local networks and the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
