Position Overview:
The Senior Project Engineer collaborates with seasoned Project Management and Field Supervision teams, contributing to the overall safety, direction, completion, and financial success of construction projects from the initial budgeting phase to project closeout. Safety remains the utmost priority, and Senior Project Engineers are expected to promote and embody safe work practices. They will work closely with team members across all levels of Project Management and Field Supervision to set operational priorities and ensure high-quality project delivery. Building and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with both internal and external project team members and support departments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers in executing various duties.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by identifying and surpassing their needs.
  • Estimate, value engineer, and formulate project budgets.
  • Oversee the subcontractor bidding process, including the management of all project bidding documentation.
  • Utilize software tools and templates for processing, distributing, and tracking project documentation.
  • Negotiate subcontractor agreements and material purchases; develop and finalize subcontracts.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines effectively.
  • Manage ongoing projects, including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor project costs through continuous evaluation of labor, materials, and equipment; forecast and analyze construction costs, risks, and profits until project completion.
  • Conduct project closeout procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial Construction is required.
  • Prior Co-Op or Internship experience in the construction industry is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented approach to work.
