Overview

Princeton University is seeking a skilled customer service professional for the position of Financial Services Associate within our Financial Service Center. This role involves being part of a dedicated team responsible for providing exceptional service to the University community during standard operating hours. The associate plays a crucial role in representing the Office of Finance and Treasury, ensuring a high level of customer service across various Finance and Treasury functions.

In this capacity, the Financial Services Associate will deliver direct assistance through in-person interactions, phone calls, or email correspondence, addressing a wide array of Finance and Treasury-related inquiries. Utilizing the University's Service Now portal, the associate will effectively monitor and resolve service requests. Key responsibilities include managing access to financial systems, offering guidance on financial reporting issues, overseeing financial transactions for academic departments, supporting University vendors and partners, and providing customer assistance for departmental credit card programs and cashiering services.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Support: Provide direct support to the University community regarding financial processes through the Princeton Service Portal. Represent the Office of Finance and Treasury at various informational events. Manage customer support for departmental credit and travel card programs, including the application process and vendor inquiries.
  • Systems Security and Access: Oversee security and access management for all financial systems, ensuring appropriate purchasing and payment approval authority.
  • Cashiering Support: Deliver cashiering services, including currency disbursement and accounting validation for petty cash replenishment.
  • Process Improvement and Training: Develop tracking mechanisms to evaluate service delivery effectiveness and collaborate with the Finance and Treasury training coordinator to create training programs.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in a related area.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand diverse departmental needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, reporting, and accounting procedures.
  • Experience in a front-line customer service role.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot financial inquiries across various systems.
  • Attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience at Princeton or a similar institution is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials or other financial processing systems.
