Overview

Princeton University is seeking a skilled customer service professional for the position of Financial Services Associate within our Financial Service Center. This role is integral to a team of associates dedicated to providing exceptional service during standard University operating hours. The associate will embody the values of the Office of Finance and Treasury, ensuring a high level of customer service across various Finance and Treasury functions.

In this capacity, the Financial Services Associate will offer direct assistance to members of the University community through in-person interactions, phone calls, and email correspondence regarding a wide array of Finance and Treasury processes. Utilizing the University's Service Now portal, the associate will monitor and address service requests efficiently. Key responsibilities include managing access to financial systems, providing insights on financial reports, overseeing financial transactions for academic departments, and offering first-line support to vendors and partners engaging with Finance & Treasury systems.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Support: Deliver comprehensive support via the Princeton Service Portal, addressing inquiries related to financial operations, payroll, travel, and student accounts. Represent the Office of Finance and Treasury at various informational events.
  • Systems Security and Access: Oversee security protocols and access to all financial systems managed by the Office of Finance and Treasury, ensuring proper purchasing and payment approval authority.
  • Cashiering Services: Provide cashiering functions, including managing currency disbursement and validating accounting for departmental petty cash replenishments.
  • Process Improvement and Training: Develop tracking mechanisms to assess service delivery effectiveness and collaborate with the Finance and Treasury training coordinator to design training programs on relevant topics.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in a pertinent area.
  • 1-3 years of applicable work experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand diverse departmental needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, reporting, and accounting procedures.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, providing service via phone and email.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot financial inquiries across various systems.
  • Attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience at Princeton or a similar institution is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials or other financial processing software.
